2 0 0 8 NEWSLETTER PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Thanksgiving came late this year and presages an even more frantic rush into the holidays. I hope you and your families will take the time to enjoy the coming holidays. This year’s Bookfest on November 17 was, as always, a great success. More than forty members came to hear our speakers, Neal Sofman and Anna Bullard, share their knowledge and enthusiasm about some of the literary selections. Members who purchased books that day received a 20%discount. Many thanks to Nancy Hagosian and her committee—Anna Bolechowski and Anna Cristoforo—who set up the event, and to Katie Balestreri who organized the event and also prepared the gingerbread dessert. We are grateful to the many thoughtful Forest Hill residents who managed to fill five large barrels of donations to the San Francisco Food Bank. Thanks, also, to Ellie Barry and Tony Buckley who have shepherded this event for several years. With the Holiday Season fast upon us, please take time to come to our various community activities!
